Serve as a resource to academic departments for a wide range of questions related to instructional budgeting/expenses. which may include running ad hoc reports, investigating discrepancies, providing guidance on purchasing, supplier/vendor management, AP payments, etc. Serve as the first line resource for Summer Session staff with budgetary responsibility on questions of policy, budget tracking, etc.Ensure staff involved in period-end/year-end financial transactions comply with internal and university deadlines. Serve as an approver of the department’s high volume (several hundreds) of purchasing card and travel card transactions. Serve as a financial subject matter expert for summer residential staff including staff verifying PCard (University credit card) transactions. Collaborate on the development and delivery of annual finance training to approximately 12 residential staff making purchases in support of residential/student life program operations.Advise colleagues on topics related to operationalizing financial policy and creating effective processes in support of purchasing for Summer Session. Use the monthly reconciliation process as well as ad hoc reporting to identify and resolve a wide range of fiscal and/or process-based issues which may occur with Summer Session’s accounts.Serve as a key member of the finance team providing reports in support of year-end analysis and forecasting including the course tuition and expense report. Drawing on data from multiple sources/systems, this process requires high-level Excel proficiency. Serve a critical role in Summer Session’s tuition calculation process which is used to calculate Summer Session’s approximately $20M in annual tuition revenue.Provide regular and ad hoc reporting and analysis to be used by the finance team in the development of Summer Session’s annual operating budget. Serve as a key resource for Summer Session PTA Managers (functional leads with budgetary oversight) in the development of annual budgets as well as ongoing monitoring of financial accounts throughout the fiscal year.Reconcile Summer Session monthly expenditure and fund statements for a $12M operating budget and resolve and/or escalate issues as necessary.
